As a brand, a small part of this big nation, Obeetee Carpets, has been contributing to preserving a part of this heritage by continuing the art of handmaking carpets. Started more than a century ago, we have been handmaking rugs for the world to date. And yes, the plan is to keep this magic alive for at least a century more. Persian Saga-

The history of carpet making in India started with the Mughals. Akbar, a fanatic of art and architecture,  brought Persian artisans with him who hand-knotted rugs for his court. These artisans imparted their skill and knowledge to the Indian artisans who have been taking it forward ever since.

The carpets in this collection are a lot more than just decor accents or floor coverings. They are a piece of art. Persian art is renowned for its rich shades and intricate patterns. While just drawing these motifs is a task, imagine the painstaking craftsmanship of hand-knotting these carpets. Each rug in this collection embraces a unique design. The inspiration behind these designs is the 3 elements of Persia: the city, village, and tribes.

Gypsy Oasis-

Carpets have the ability to transform a place. It not only adds life but also makes it adorable. Isn’t that something all of us are seeking? Similar to what a Gypsy’s reaction to an Oasis in the middle ofthe desert, the same outcome will be yours when you see the collection. Influenced by traditionalism, each carpet in the collection features Turkish patterns. In the fast-paced world, the entire collection has been crafted with a slow commerce belief. Good things take time, just like a hand-knotted Obeetee rug. Each rug in the collection embraces an intricate pattern, a pattern that will take you to a place that may seem familiar but yet unknown.

Viraasat-

Viraasat means ‘legacy’. Bringing our legacy of hand-knotting rugs for more than a century to life, we have introduced Viraasat. With the help of 4 designers, Anita Dalmia, Ashdeeen, Tarun Tahiliani, and Anju Modi, Viraasat was designed. Each of these designers poured a part of their Viraasat on the carpet canvas. Created with natural fibers sourced from the most fertile fields across the country, every rug is hand-knotted by skilled artisans, a part of our Viraasat in this collection. Nothing less than tapestries, each rug is much more than a decor accent.

Untitled-

Among the traditionalism, lies a hint of modernism that’s probably the inspiration behind perhaps everything. Abstract Art, a modern concept, but that has existed for a long time. Little did people know then that it would be the preference of the future. Bringing this art on the carpet canvas, Untitled is one of our abstract art collections. Hand-tufted using international-grade fiber, the collection captures the essence of modernism as it finds sense in the insensible, bringing to life everything unusual. The entire collection, from the shoot to the designs, you won’t be able to name anything but call it Untitled.
