Obeetee Home: Around the Individuals from the Film
If you’re an avid reader of our blog, you’ll know that Obeetee has recently expanded into a thoughtfully curated home category. Beyond the carpets we are known for, this new chapter includes furniture, bedding, throws, and cushions -elements that together complete the narrative of a lived-in space. For a brand rooted in centuries-old handcrafting traditions, this evolution felt instinctive. After all, carpets don’t just dress a room; they anchor it. They set the tone for how a home feels, moves, and breathes.
So when we began conceptualising our brand film to close the year 2025, it was only natural that it would unfold as a home story -one shaped not by trends, but by people. We turned to voices from across creative disciplines to explore a simple yet deeply layered question: What does home mean to you? What emerged was a canvas of lived experiences, personal philosophies, and emotional truths. While each story was unique, a common thread ran through them all -the freedom to express, to belong, and to simply be within one’s own space.

Without further context, let us take you through these voices that shaped our film -individuals whose work has long influenced culture, design, and creativity, and whose idea of home is as layered as their professional journeys.
Sandeep Khosla, one half of the iconic designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, has spent decades redefining Indian luxury through craft, precision, and quiet opulence. Known for his deep respect for artisanship and heritage, Sandeep’s understanding of home mirrors his design philosophy. For him, home is an honest dialogue with one’s own life -a place where journeys, quirks, and joys gently settle into form. In conversation with Obeetee, he reflected on how good design never demands attention; it simply holds a space together. When beauty is rooted in intention, it endures. A home, he believes, is less about what you build and more about what you allow to reveal itself.
For Kalki Koechlin - actor, writer, performer, and a voice synonymous with authenticity -home has always been intertwined with nature. Raised in the Nilgiris, surrounded by eucalyptus forests and open skies, her sense of belonging was shaped not by walls, but by landscapes. Her career, marked by unconventional choices and fearless storytelling, echoes this grounding. In her conversation with Obeetee, Kalki spoke about biophilia -the innate pull of nature -and how it continues to define her idea of home today. For her, home is not a destination but a feeling that grows wherever nature is allowed to coexist with you. Perhaps that is where the depth and honesty in her art truly emerges from.
Srimoyi Bhattacharya, founder of the eponymous luxury textile and lifestyle brand, has long been celebrated for her refined eye and deep understanding of craft-led storytelling. Her work seamlessly blends Indian textiles with contemporary sensibilities. Unsurprisingly, her idea of home reflects this philosophy. For Srimoyi, home is a living tapestry -where every object, fabric, and texture carries its own quiet identity. In her conversation with Obeetee, she spoke of how these elements come together not as décor, but as storytellers. Each piece holds memory, intent, and personal history, creating a space that evolves organically over time.
For Radhika Bhalla, former Senior Associate Editor at Harper’s Bazaar India and Brides Today, and now Creative Director of The Word, home is an unapologetic celebration of maximalism. Raised by a mother who loved antiques and contemporary treasures alike, Radhika grew up immersed in visual stories. Today, her home reflects that inheritance. Every corner holds meaning -where a piece was discovered, who made it, the era it belongs to, and how it makes you feel when you pass by. In her world, there is no such thing as excess. There is only personal expression -layered, colourful, and deeply intentional.
A home, after all, is the most personal story we ever tell.
For Ankita Chawla, popularly known as Hustlerani, that story is fearless and ever-evolving. A digital creator, entrepreneur, and self-professed nomad, Ankita has built a career around individuality and experimentation. In her conversation with Obeetee, she described her home as eclectic -a museum of everything she has ever loved. From travel souvenirs to corners that celebrate her creative evolution, her space mirrors a life lived fully. For Ankita, style isn’t a decision; it’s a constant. And just like her content, her home is layered with memories, textures, colours, and quiet confidence.
As this film reminds us, home isn’t defined by square footage or aesthetic rules. It is shaped by stories, values, and the freedom to express who you are. Through Obeetee Home, we celebrate these stories -crafted, curated, and lived in. And we invite you to reflect on your own.
Because in the end, home is where your story begins.
